Comfort food loading: Green Beans & 🥓
Sautéed Green Beans with Bacon & Onion
(Potatoes or butter optional)
Serves: 4 as a side
Ingredients
• 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
• 4–6 slices bacon, chopped
• 1 small onion, diced
• 1 tsp each: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika
• Salt & black pepper to taste
• 2–3 tbsp water (for steaming)
• Optional: 2–3 medium potatoes (quartered or cubed) or a pat of butter
Instructions
1 Cook chopped bacon in a large skillet until crispy. Remove bacon, leaving the fat.
2 Add diced onion (and optional potatoes). Sauté 5–7 minutes.
3 Add green beans, seasonings, and 2–3 tbsp water. Cover and steam 5–8 minutes until beans are tender-crisp (and potatoes are fork-tender if using).
4 Stir bacon back in (add optional butter for extra richness). Adjust seasoning and serve hot.
Tip: Potatoes or butter are completely optional — the dish is delicious with just green beans, bacon, and onion too!
Pairs perfectly with sweet & spicy teriyaki wings and rice, check out my page for that recipe as well.
