How I use Anime to pass nursing School: Peds pt 1

Although I would not like to specialize in pediatrics, the class itself was the easiest out of all my classes in Nursing School simply because I used anime as my visual!

I don’t know if it’s just I’m really smart or just a super weeaboo (or both), but ever since I thought about adding anime into my studies, it has made nursing school so much more enjoyable and easier!

With literally watching so much anime for so many years, I’m able to tell which disease/injury goes with what character because I have seen it in the anime!

I have never missed a question on exams with my anime notes and never missed a practice NCLEX question as i prepare for that as well.

Happy studying everyone! 💕

... Read moreAnime is not only a source of entertainment but can also be an effective educational tool, especially in fields requiring memorization and understanding of complex subjects like nursing. Many nursing students are finding unique ways to incorporate their passions into their studies, making the learning process both engaging and productive. By relating pediatric diseases and conditions to characters from anime, students can create visual memories that enhance retention of the information. For example, referencing the character Tanjiro from 'Demon Slayer' illustrates hemophilia, while characters from 'Chibi Vampire' can help remember first aid instructions for nosebleeds. Additionally, integrating popular culture into academic learning can support various learning styles, particularly visual learners. Many nursing programs encourage innovative study techniques that cater to different preferences, thus fostering a deeper understanding. Research suggests that relating information to familiar concepts improves recall ability, which is crucial when preparing for challenging examinations like the NCLEX. Students are encouraged to experiment with their study methods, whether through anime, flashcards, or group study sessions. The key takeaway is that personalizing the learning experience can pave the way for greater academic success. Happy studying, and keep exploring creative ways to make your nursing education enjoyable!
