This recipe uses vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips, making it suitable for plant-based diets. To start, slightly soften the vegan butter to ensure easy mixing with sugars and vanilla extract, creating a smooth base for your dough. Combining both dark brown and cane sugar adds depth of flavor and a subtle caramel note to the cookies. The mixture of all-purpose flour, baking powder, and a touch of baking soda ensures the cookies have just the right amount of rise and a soft texture. Incorporating plant-based milk helps bind the dry ingredients without sacrificing the recipe's vegan integrity. When folding in the chocolate chips, do so gently to avoid overworking the dough, which can lead to tougher cookies. Using parchment paper in the air fryer basket prevents sticking and makes cleanup easier. If parchment paper isn't available, a light spray of oil works as a practical alternative. Preheating the air fryer to 350°F helps achieve even baking. Baking for about 8 minutes allows the cookies to cook through while remaining soft and chewy inside. For an indulgent twist, serving these warm cookies alongside vegan ice cream and a sprinkle of crushed cane sugar creates a delightful dessert experience. The air fryer method reduces baking time and energy usage compared to traditional ovens, making it a convenient choice for quick snack preparation. This recipe is not only easy and fast but also a great way to experiment with vegan baking, especially for those new to plant-based cooking. With simple ingredients and accessible equipment, you can enjoy homemade vegan cookies any day of the week.
