Show up, even when you’re tired. Life keeps going, and so must we.

Adulthood is learning that you must show up even when you're overwhelmed. Do it while grieving, tired, or sad—life doesn't pause for anyone, so keep moving.

... Read moreFrom personal experience, one of the hardest lessons in adulthood is learning to keep going when energy is low or emotions are high. There have been countless mornings when I felt exhausted, emotionally drained, or overwhelmed by grief, but choosing to show up—whether at work, family events, or even small daily tasks—helped me gradually rebuild resilience. Life doesn’t wait for us to be ‘ready.’ It moves forward, regardless of our feelings. Accepting this reality doesn’t mean ignoring your pain but rather acknowledging it and still committing to action. For example, setting small, achievable goals can make showing up feel less daunting—taking a shower, preparing a meal, or simply stepping outside for fresh air. It’s also important to recognize that showing up doesn’t mean perfection. Sometimes, just being present is enough. Communicating to others about your feelings can foster support and reduce isolation during hard times. I found journaling helpful to process emotions and track progress, however small. Remember that self-compassion is key. When tired or grieving, giving yourself grace encourages sustainability rather than burnout. Ultimately, showing up amidst difficulty is a demonstration of strength and courage, helping you move forward in life, even when the path feels heavy. This mindset shift—from waiting to feel capable to acting despite discomfort—has transformed my approach to challenges. It’s a continuous journey, but one that reinforces growth and endurance in adulthood.

I really wanted to post this video before Christmas, because I know how tough the holiday blues can be, even more so when the words we offer ourselves aren’t as forgiving as the ones we give to others. Honestly, as the year comes to an end, I’m still trying to digest November, and it feels like

Who needs spin class when you have an energetic 8-year-old? Some days I’m tired. Some days my legs are burning. When you’re the only parent showing up, there are no days off — just showing up anyway. He won’t remember my tiredness. He’ll remember that I was there. It’s the same wi

Sometimes you feel tired even when life is calm.
Emotional fatigue can build up from small daily stresses, like decision-making and constant comparison. Try making your choices simpler, set limits for social media, and check in with yourself honestly. It’s okay to rest when you need it. Save this if you’ve been feeling drained lately. #E
