I just played through one of Cyberpunk 2077's trickier missions, "Play It Safe," and wanted to share some personal tips on how I navigated Takemura's hostile area, especially when it came to those pesky snipers. If you're finding this mission a bit challenging, hopefully, my experience can shed some light! Understanding the "Play It Safe" Challenge The "Play It Safe" mission puts you right into the heart of a hostile zone, often with Takemura by your side. The primary challenge, as the OCR content highlighted, often revolves around neutralizing snipers who have the high ground and can quickly take you down if you're not careful. My goal was clear: get to Takemura, assist him, and deal with the opposition, focusing heavily on taking out those long-range threats. Initial Approach: Stealth is Your Best Friend When you first enter the TAKEMURA AREA: HOSTILE, my immediate thought was to go stealthy. I recommend taking your time to scope out the environment. Look for cover, potential patrol routes, and, most importantly, identify the sniper positions. Often, the game encourages you to Crouch and use environmental elements to your advantage. Optical camo or even basic distractions using quickhacks can be incredibly useful here. My strategy was to move slowly, staying out of sight and marking as many enemies as possible with my scanner before engaging. Neutralizing the Snipers: My Step-by-Step Takedown The OCR mentioned "Neutralize the snipers" and to "Reach the third sniper." This tells you there are multiple, and they are a priority. I found that dealing with them one by one was the most effective. Instead of rushing in, I tried to find flanking routes or alternative pathways that would allow me to get above or behind them. For the first one or two, stealth takedowns were my preferred method. A quick silent pistol shot to the head or a non-lethal knockout from behind often worked wonders. However, getting to the "third sniper" often proved to be the most challenging part, as by then, the area might be more alert. This is where my approach sometimes shifted from pure stealth to a more aggressive, yet tactical, engagement. I always made sure to take cover, prioritize the closest threats, and then focus on the long-range snipers. Combat Tactics: When Stealth Isn't an Option Sometimes, things go sideways, and stealth isn't possible, or you just prefer a more direct approach. This is where knowing your combat mechanics really helps. The OCR mentioned "Fast Attack / (Hold) Strong Attack Aim Dodge/Dash Crouch," and these are your bread and butter. Fast Attack / (Hold) Strong Attack: For close-quarters combat, combining these can be devastating. A Fast Attack can stun or interrupt an enemy, creating an opening for a more powerful (Hold) Strong Attack. Don't just spam; time your strikes. Aim: Always aim for critical spots, headshots especially. Even with non-sniper rifles, precision targeting can end fights quickly. Dodge/Dash: Movement is crucial. Continuously use Dodge/Dash to evade incoming fire, reposition, and break enemy line of sight. Never stand still in a firefight, especially against snipers. Crouch: Beyond stealth, crouching significantly reduces your hitbox and improves stability for aiming. Use cover effectively; peek out, shoot, then Crouch back down. Ultimately, my success in "Play It Safe" came down to a mix of patience, environmental awareness, and adapting my combat style. Don't be afraid to experiment with different approaches.
