Hill Country Arts Academy sends a huge thank‑you to ARG‑10i Mission Commander Yuki Nishimura for speaking live with our Astronomy class during their Mars analog mission, where crews train and test the kinds of work future Mars missions will need.

The APUS Analog Research Group (AARG) brings together researchers from across the nation to develop their projects, coordinate mission work, and support safe, effective analog missions. The current crew comes from AARG as a joint effort to advance this research.

We’re also grateful to Travis Nelson, head of the University of North Dakota’s Space Studies program. UND operates the analog habitat, and his support made this livestream possible. Our students were truly inspired by this team.

Their analog habitat serves as a testbed for technologies and procedures that will one day enable humans to live and work on Mars. For educators and students interested in astronomy and space research, following or participating in analog mission projects can greatly enrich their educational journey by bringing science to life through interactive learning and direct communication with experts. This approach bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical experience, inspiring the next generation of explorers and scientists.
