I can’t with these people.
Okay, so we've all got those nicknames for our friends, right? From silly inside jokes to terms of endearment, they often feel like secret codes that only we understand. But have you ever stopped to think about what those personal nicknames truly reflect about your friendship dynamics? I've been doing a lot of soul-searching lately, and let me tell you, it's opened my eyes to some hard truths about my own circle. Sometimes, a nickname is a beautiful testament to shared history and affection. It’s a shorthand for love, trust, and countless memories. You feel seen, understood, and cherished when a friend uses that special name. It reflects a dynamic built on mutual respect and genuine care. But then there are times when those dynamics shift, and suddenly, that once-sweet nickname starts to feel... off. Maybe it's a subtle clue, a shift in tone, or a feeling that the person using it isn't quite the same friend they once were. These small cues can be really telling about the evolving nature of a friendship. I've personally found myself in a situation where I was constantly questioning the true nature of some long-standing connections. It started subtly, a feeling that something wasn't right, that the balance had shifted. Then, like a lightning bolt, something happened that made everything crystal clear. For me, it felt like the equivalent of a “Jack Smith report” – a moment of undeniable clarity that *justified my actions*. It wasn't about a literal report, but a personal revelation that truly shored up my decision of cutting people off that I'd been contemplating *since November*. It’s a tough thing to admit, but sometimes, for your own peace and growth, you have to make those difficult choices. *I don't know about you*, but that whole experience just solidified my resolve. Really, all it did was make me realize I was right all along. It’s like, *it pisses me off even more now*, just when I thought I might be over it. No, *I wasn't getting over it*, but *now I know I made the right decision*. This isn't about being harsh; it's about recognizing when a dynamic, even one symbolized by a personal nickname, no longer serves you. It's about self-preservation and protecting your energy. Friendship dynamics are complex, and they’re not static. They evolve, and sometimes, they fade or become toxic. When a nickname goes from feeling like a warm embrace to a subtle reminder of what's been lost or what's no longer healthy, that's a powerful signal. It reflects a deeper change in the connection, perhaps a power imbalance, a lack of reciprocation, or even disrespect that's been bubbling under the surface. I've realized that sometimes, the most loving thing you can do for yourself is to acknowledge when a friendship has run its course, or when certain people are simply not meant to be in your inner circle anymore. It’s hard, and it hurts, but the clarity that comes from making the right decision is invaluable. I kept asking myself, who else did? Am I alone here? I can't be alone here in feeling this way. I truly believe many of us grapple with these same feelings when evaluating our friendships. It's a journey of self-discovery, learning to trust your gut, and understanding that healthy friendship dynamics are built on mutual respect, genuine support, and positive energy – not just on old nicknames or shared history.

You’re not alone. I cut everyone off in 2016, and doing so is the only reason I am still here. Know what you know; be loud about it; ignore EVERYONE . Nothing will change. Outside noise is too loud. Be well 💜
