Gothic culture engulfs so many things …romantic literature, architecture, music, fashion!!! Omg I didn’t even realize it until saying that now!!! And also the makeup world!!!! Such fun!!! I had a coworker who dressed gothic everyday & it was amazing …she loved the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas” so all her clothes were a reflection of that!!! Very cool!!! She would wear this amazing deep purple lipstick!!!
Well have a fantastic Friday everyone!!! It’s raining here & yuck is all I have to say!!! Wishing for sunshine soon!!!🔜 🌞…remember to shine because everyone has that sparkle!!!✨ 🩷🩷🩷
As someone who has always been fascinated by gothic culture, I find National World Goth Day to be a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the depth and variety within this unique subculture. Beyond the typical black attire, colors like burgundy, plum, and green add a rich dimension to the gothic palette, bringing in elements of romanticism and mystery. I remember admiring how gothic fashion embraces romantic literature, intricate architecture, and the haunting melodies of gothic music, creating a full sensory experience. This cultural immersion often reflects in makeup choices as well; deep purple lipstick or dark, smoky eyes are common but always striking statements. An interesting aspect is how gothic influences appear in everyday lives, from coworkers inspired by films like "Nightmare Before Christmas" to subtle nods found in jewelry or accessories. Even if you don’t identify strictly as gothic, incorporating some of these elements can add an edgy yet elegant flair to your style. While classic black remains an iconic gothic staple, experimenting with plum, burgundy, and mossy greens can refresh your wardrobe and invite new compliments. And for those who love to subvert norms, incorporating a splash of pink—as mentioned by the author—is a beautiful reminder that personal style transcends categories. So on days when the weather is gloomy, like rainy Fridays, tapping into gothic culture can bring a kind of cozy darkness that is both comforting and empowering. Remember, gothic is as much about self-expression and attitude as it is about fashion, so celebrate your unique sparkle and let your style shine, no matter the season.
