✨ Meet my 33 year old mare ✨
❤️❤️❤️
It is extremely rare for a horse to have the same owner for his/her lifespan. Horses are held to a much higher standard than any other animal. When a horse is amazing, it is as much a testament to their intelligence, adaptability, and inherited personality as it is to their owners and trainers.
My favorite horse...This one right here. She is my very favorite in the whole wide world—Carroll.
Of all of the horses I’ve had in my life (and there have been more than a dozen) this one is THE ONE.
She’s hilarious. She’s wicked smart. She’s just enough drama to keep me humble but never has hurt me. She is quiet love. Sometimes I just go out to visit her and breathe in our deep connection. She is the true definition of #hearthorse
She is 33 years old. I’ve had her for pretty much her entire life. I got her when I was 11 years old. I had her through middle & high school. She traveled with me to college In Montana. She was with me when I got married and when I had my daughter. My daughter is now 12 and rides her.
I’m forever grateful that she’s been with me for that long.

Having a horse for their entire lifespan is a rare experience, yet it creates an unbreakable bond. Carroll has been more than just a horse; she's a family member and a constant source of joy. At 33, her personality shines through, making her a beloved companion. Horses can live into their 30s with proper care, just like Carroll, who has thrived under her owner's dedication. As equine friends age, they require special dietary considerations and regular veterinary care to maintain health and vitality. Stories like Carroll's remind us of the enduring connection between horses and their humans, showcasing the beauty of companionship, understanding, and the memories created over the years. For anyone navigating a similar journey, cherishing moments with older horses reinforces the importance of affection and care in nurturing that bond.
