Personal Core Values

I'm in the beginning stages of a project I'm wanting to do this year. This blog is probably going to service as a space for me to flesh out a lot of this project. (Sorry for being secretive but I promise there will be more to come I just want my ducks in a row before I make any big announcements). That being said last night we had a work meeting and since that meeting I've been thinking a lot about core values. My personal core values and those of my job are very similar they work together.

So today if you take the time to read this post I'd love for you to comment here for on social media somewhere and tell me what are your personal core values. These things should reflect who you are as a person and be nonnegotiable. Lots of mine come from the way I was raised, from being a Girl Scout, my family etc.

For me:

1. Make the world a better place (yeah yeah it's the Girl Scout in me) but what do I mean by that. I mean that I want to live a life where I am helping others. Where I show kindness and love to other people. Where I share the things I've learned in life though my experiences to help other or encourage others.

2. Show kindness to myself - this one is pretty self explanatory and might be a little bit more of a work in progress because I'm fighting years of outside sources telling me things about myself. But this one is nonnegotiable for me now. I want to show the kindness to myself that hasn't always been shown to me. If my body is hurting resting is important it's not lazy. My quirks are what make me me and that is wonderful.

3. Honesty always. - I've always been this way. I was honest to the point of telling on myself when I was a kid. And it's carried into adulthood.

At this moment those are my big three I'm sure I could think of others but right now that is all I'm coming up with maybe I'll add more later. But for now I want to hear yours.

... Read moreIn a world where personal development is essential, understanding and embracing our core values is crucial. Core values are the guiding principles that influence our decisions and behavior. They often stem from our backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs. For instance, the values of kindness, self-compassion, and honesty play significant roles in how we relate to ourselves and others. Cultivating these values can lead to a fulfilling life. Starting with kindness, it's vital to recognize how our actions impact those around us. Kindness not only improves the world but also enhances our well-being. Self-kindness, often overlooked, encourages us to treat ourselves with the same compassion we extend to others. It involves acknowledging our struggles and allowing ourselves rest without guilt. Honesty stands as another foundational core value. It fosters trust and integrity in relationships, making it a non-negotiable for many. Being honest with ourselves and others can strengthen connections and lead to more meaningful interactions. Being transparent and authentic allows us to navigate through life's challenges with clarity. Engaging with our core values, we invite reflection and discussion within our community. By sharing your core values, we create a diverse tapestry of beliefs that enrich our relationships and understanding. Reflecting on your values is an ongoing journey, allowing room for growth and adaptation as we progress through life.
