How to forgive?!

When we are forced with the options, whether to forgive or to cut off, we often look at it through the lens of our pure conscience and their wrong doing. We see our good deeds in the moment and our right standing with God and see their lack thereof.

I think the key to forgiveness is to look to Jesus.

To look to Jesus and then back at ourselves.

How often are we forgiven for our mistakes, how oft does he forgives our sins?

I was recently met with a situation in which someone severely wronged me. I was left feeling vulnerable and rejected by someone I thought I could trust.

My first thought was revenge. I wanted them to the feel pain. I wanted them to be cut off and thrown away. I wanted God to punish them.

Boy am I GLAD that God does not cut me off when I sin. I am glad that He never leaves me or forsakes me. I am glad that His grace and mercy is always available to me.

I am so glad that God has grace. How lucky am I?

So for me to wish that one another person is for me to wish that upon myself- and I would never want that upon me.

There are obviously circumstances where boundaries MUST be set and forgetting isn’t always plausible- but forgiving, that is always necessary.

It's essential to understand that forgiveness does not mean condoning wrong behavior but rather releasing ourselves from the burden of anger and resentment. This act of letting go can lead to immense emotional relief and contribute to our overall well-being. As Christians, we are called to reflect on the grace we receive from God. Recognizing that we are forgiven for our shortcomings allows us to extend the same grace to others. It's crucial to establish healthy boundaries when necessary and remember that forgiveness is a process, not a one-time event. Studies show that those who practice forgiveness report greater mental health, lower stress levels, and improved relationships. When struggling to forgive, it can be helpful to meditate on scriptures about forgiveness, such as Ephesians 4:32 which reminds us to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave us. Engaging in prayer and reflection can also aid the journey toward forgiveness, cultivating a heart that seeks peace over pain. Embracing forgiveness transforms not only our lives but also encourages a ripple effect of kindness and understanding in our communities.

Same, truly was heartbroken and today I gave it to the Lord no matter how my flesh wants me to feel how they made me felt I know God and I know he forgives us daily so why can’t I and it hurts but we hurt God when we sin and he has never forsaken us. Great message sis truly🙌🏾❤️ bless it be thy Lord!
