Traveling together is a fantastic way to bond, and Vermont offers so many opportunities for dads and kids to connect with nature and each other. One thing I’m really excited about is exploring the scenic outdoors—hiking the Green Mountains, visiting quaint towns like Stowe, and maybe even catching some fall foliage if the timing is right. Vermont’s natural beauty is unbeatable, and it gives us the chance to slow down and appreciate the moment. Another highlight I’m looking forward to is sharing local experiences, like trying homemade maple syrup and exploring family-friendly farms. It’s a simple way to learn about the state’s culture and have fun together. Traveling with my son also means thinking about what will keep him engaged and energized, from dog-friendly trails to finding spots where we can relax and recharge—because, let’s face it, traveling can be exhausting sometimes, just like I felt after a long time without rest back in Los Angeles. I’m also planning to take along a trusty bandana for our dog, who’s a constant companion on our adventures. Having a pet with us adds a lot of joy and makes the journey feel more like a shared family experience. Ultimately, I believe this trip will be a perfect mix of relaxation, discovery, and quality time—something every father and son should have the chance to enjoy. If you’re thinking about a similar trip, I recommend focusing on balance: planning activities but leaving room to just unwind and enjoy Vermont’s peaceful vibe together.
