Stuff like stupid, hate, annoying, even sucks.
I saw the wildest thing at the park, a kid trips and goes “Ow, my butt!” and his mom loses it “We NEVER say butt! It’s ‘patootie’!” Like why are we cutesifying basic words that aren’t even bad?
And fart becomes “poof” or “wind,” poop turns into “boomboom” or “oopsie.” Then there’s the “no negativity” rule, kids can’t say “no,” “don’t like,” or “can’t.” “Ava Marie, you don’t ‘not like’ broccoli, you’re ‘choosing not to enjoy it today’!” Let kids set boundaries, for goodness sake!
Worst of all? Banning correct body part names. “Call it a ‘cookie’ NOW!” If something terrible happens, you’re making it impossible for them to communicate. Isn’t teaching them real words safer and smarter? Do you get this trend?
