Our 2026 Garden
Today we planted our very first seeds for our 2026 garden. I absolutely loved getting my hands in the dirt and carefully placing the seeds in. Watering them and praying over them,so they may grow fruitful and abundant and nourish my family. As i was planting the seeds and watching my son play in the yard i began to think of everything i am grateful for and how truly blessed i am.And i thank God everyday for all that i have because it is all through him.I am excited to see where this journey takes me and to be able to use gardening as time with God. This is a new season and we have to plant the seeds now in order to achieve the goals later.
“Let your roots grow down into him,and let your lives be built on him.Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught and you will overthrow thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7

Gardening has become an uplifting way to spend time alone or with family, especially watching my son play nearby—this closeness to nature fosters gratitude and reminds me to celebrate even the smallest growth. The scriptures that I love to keep in mind during this new gardening season, such as Colossians 2:7 and Galatians 5:22-23, serve as spiritual nourishment while I cultivate physical nourishment. They remind me to grow roots of faith and bear fruit aligned with love, joy, and self-control. These virtues are just like the patience and care needed in tending a garden. For those starting their own garden, I recommend labeling each seed category and noting the ideal seed depth and sunlight requirements. This not only helps the garden flourish but also strengthens your connection to the process, making every sprout that breaks the ground feel like a little miracle. Embracing gardening as a practice that feeds the body and soul brings incredible satisfaction. It’s a journey of growth, learning, and hope.
