What are your favorite dog breeds? It’s a question I get all the time, especially when people see my beautiful pack! From playful Golden Retrievers to my energetic husky-like companion, each dog brings so much joy and has such unique traits. It really makes you wonder, what makes a dog the 'best' to have? Choosing the 'best' dog truly depends on your lifestyle. For some, a calm, cuddly companion is perfect, while others need an adventure buddy. When I was looking for my first dog, I considered a large dog because I love their presence, but I also had to think about my living space and how much exercise I could provide. Golden Retrievers, for example, are known for being incredibly family-friendly and intelligent, making them wonderful companions if you can commit to their exercise needs. My Golden is just the sweetest! Then there’s my husky-like dog! They are stunning to look at with their piercing eyes, but let me tell you, they come with a lot of energy and a strong will. They need consistent training and plenty of mental stimulation, otherwise, they might get into mischief! If you're considering a breed like this, be prepared for an active lifestyle. As you can see in my photos, my diverse group of dogs, including a black dog that’s a real character, showcases just how much variety there is. Now, a fun question I often hear is, 'Do dogs have favorite colors?' This one always makes me smile! While dogs don't see the world in the same vibrant spectrum we do (they're mostly seeing blues and yellows, not reds and greens), they definitely have preferences! It's not about the color of a toy, but more about its scent, texture, and the positive associations they have with it. So, while my pup might seem to 'prefer' a blue ball, it's likely because it smells like their favorite person (me!) or bounces just right, rather than the shade of blue itself.
