Our losses
This past year has been one of the hardest we’ve ever faced. In just 12 months, we’ve lost three of our beautiful fur babies, and the heartbreak has been overwhelming.
1. Mama Dog lost her battle with cancer in May 2024. We knew her time was coming, and while it still hurt deeply, we were able to prepare our hearts.
2. Bella was taken from us suddenly about two months ago after a tragic attack.
3. Benny was hit in our own driveway by someone who wasn’t paying attention.
Losing Mama Dog was painful, but expected. Bella and Benny broke us in a different way—the unexpected calls, the shock, the helplessness.
I was there to say goodbye to Mama Dog and Bella when they had to be put to sleep. I was there to bury Benny. I always made sure they weren’t alone in their final moments.
But honestly… my heart can’t take much more. The grief is still so fresh, and the silence they left behind is deafening.
