Project Update
All the way back in August I agreed to crochet “a dog” for someone (adult requesting for their child) only to have them (the child) call me and say they didn’t want just any dog, they wanted specifically a “Dog days” dog. I do’t know …. I’ve never heard of this creature but I hate it. The good thing is they attached a pattern they purchased for me to make and I have been working on it since.
Unfortunately for my small client, I had a trip planned in August and I had to leave, which is in part why the project has taken me so long. I feel bad but I also lack the motivation to continue. I can feel myself getting fed up with the whole thing so I can’t wait to just be done. Once I finish, hopefully this month, I’ll be working on a fun Studio Ghibli soot sprites tote bag - it is my driving force.
That said, the pattern itself is well written, but in some places it could do with some more explanation.
Crochet projects can often present unique challenges, especially when crafting something specific like a 'Dog days' dog based on a pattern. Many crocheters encounter delays due to life events, but staying motivated is key. If you're facing similar hurdles, consider setting small daily goals or celebrating small milestones to keep the enthusiasm alive. Joining online forums or crochet communities can also provide support and inspiration. Remember, even well-written patterns may need clarification—don’t hesitate to seek help or even contribute your insights to improve the craft for others. After completing the dog project, exploring a fun pattern like a Studio Ghibli soot sprites tote bag can reignite your passion for crocheting. Keep sharing your journey, and connect with fellow crochet enthusiasts to inspire one another!
