“Wearing” my acne
I have been so sad lately because my face just randomly decided to break out again.
A couple years back I started struggling with Acne, once I found a treatment that worked my acne cleared and I was able to simplify my skin care routine to just using a gentle cleanser both in the morning and at night. I did start to get a little lazy, only washing my face in the day time (I don’t usually wear makeup so it didn’t feel like a bad bad thing)
When I first noticed the break outs I started trying to clear them by simply washing my face more but it didn’t work. I think my acne is acting up because of hormones (I’m taking a medication that messes with my hormones) so I figured it wouldn’t go away as simple as that so I bought a medicated treatment.
Item: Differin Gel
💰Price: 34.79
It is what worked last time, so fingers crossed 🤞 that it works for me again.
Unfortunately I’m really subconscious and I have been wearing a mask. But at some point I thought maybe the mask was making it worse (mask acne) so I’m trying to be confident in “wearing” my acne
Dealing with visible acne, especially those prominent breakouts on the cheek and jawline, can really impact your confidence. I know because I've been there, feeling self-conscious and just wanting to feel comfortable in my own skin. While I'm focused on treating my hormonal acne with Differin Gel, there are days when I still want a little extra help to feel put-together, especially when I'm trying to confidently 'wear' my acne as I mentioned in my post. That's where a good concealer can come in handy, not as a permanent fix, but as a temporary boost for your self-esteem. I've been doing some research lately into concealers that are gentle enough for acne-prone skin, and one that often comes up is the Tower 28 Swipe Serum Concealer. Many people in the acne community swear by it because it's known for being non-comedogenic – meaning it won't clog your pores and potentially make breakouts worse. This is super important when you're already dealing with active acne. It also contains skin-friendly ingredients like hyaluronic acid and centella asiatica, which can actually help soothe and hydrate the skin, rather than just covering it up. For me, knowing a product is designed with sensitive, blemish-prone skin in mind makes a huge difference. If you're considering using a concealer like Tower 28 for your breakouts, here are a few things I’ve learned and found helpful. First, hygiene is key. Always apply makeup with clean hands or a clean brush/sponge to avoid introducing more bacteria to your skin. For those specific breakouts on my cheeks and jawline, I like to dab a tiny bit of concealer directly onto the spot using a clean, small brush. Then, gently blend the edges with my finger or a small, damp sponge. The goal isn't to create a thick, cakey layer, but to subtly neutralize the redness and blend it into your natural skin tone. Choosing the right shade is also crucial. You want a shade that matches your skin tone perfectly, or even one that's slightly warmer if you're trying to counteract redness. Sometimes, a green color corrector can be applied first under the concealer for very red spots, but I usually prefer to keep it simple. Remember, concealer is there to make you feel better, not to completely erase every single imperfection. It's about enhancing your natural beauty and helping you feel more confident as you go about your day. It’s important to remember that while concealer can be a great tool for managing the appearance of acne, it’s not a substitute for proper skincare and treatment. I’m still committed to my Differin routine, because clearing the acne is my main goal. But on days when I need that extra boost, knowing there are options like Tower 28 concealer that won’t irritate my skin and can help me feel a little more comfortable, makes a big difference. It's all part of the journey to feeling good in my skin, visible breakouts and all!
