Woobles Crochet Kit ✨Honest Review✨
It occurred to me that I never provided an official review for The Woobles and considering that’s how I got my start in crochet! 👇 Here Goes 👇
💵 Price: $30 (for Pierre the Penguin/ on the official website)
👍Pros :
- They start you off with a pre-made piece so you can continue off of that and focus on the crochet motions before getting to the more complicated stuff.
- Comes with everything you need! (Yarn, stitch markers, hook, needle, stuffing, safety eyes)
- Definitely good quality, the “Easy Peasy” Yarn is SOOOO easy to work with and see what you are doing (it really feels like the creators thought of everything)
- The tutorials are great, truly for beginners. For Pierre specifically they are done in like almost Snapchat/ IG story style. It’s not done in just one continuous video
- They teach you to read patterns 🫶🏽
- There’s alternative tutorials for the leftie crocheters 🫶🏽 love this! Turned out to be a right handed crocheter but I am a leftie so naturally I thought I was going to be a leftie crocheter and I just went for this kit because it had options for left handed people like me ☺️
🤔Cons:
- Like I mentioned above in the Pro’s, for Pierre they had the tutorial in like Snapchat/ IG story style and that is very handy but sometimes I couldn’t help but get frustrated because of how much my hands had to handle my phone for certain steps (because I had to replay and watch a step carefully) it felt like I needed 4 hands!
-As far as crochet kits go, it may be in the pricier side. You can find more affordable kits out there but I’ve personally never tried any others.
⭐️Overall rating: 10/10: I think The Woobles really sets you up to learn how to crochet and continue on your journey beyond their kits 🫶🏽

After diving into my first Woobles kit and falling in love with Pierre the Penguin, I wanted to share even more insights for anyone curious about starting their own crochet adventure! Learning to crochet can seem daunting, but finding the right kit truly makes all the difference. While my review focused on Pierre, The Woobles offers a whole delightful menagerie of characters, from adorable foxes to the popular Pusheen. If you're looking for a specific design or just want to see what else they have, it's worth checking out their full collection. Each kit aims to provide the same beginner-friendly experience, regardless of the character, ensuring you get that signature blue and white crocheted penguin quality (or whichever character you choose!) in your finished piece. One common question I see is, "Where can I buy Woobles?" While I got mine from the official website, which always has the latest kits and offers, you can often find Woobles kits on larger online retailers like Amazon. For those wondering, "Does Michaels sell Woobles?" – it's always a good idea to check their website or your local store's inventory, as availability can vary. Craft stores sometimes carry popular brands, but the official site or Amazon are usually reliable bets for finding the specific beginner's crochet kit you're looking for. What truly makes Woobles stand out as a beginner's crochet kit? It boils down to a few key innovations. Firstly, the "Easy Peasy" yarn is a game-changer. Unlike traditional yarn that can split and be hard to see stitches with, this yarn is smooth and holds its shape, making it incredibly forgiving for new hands. This is crucial for building confidence. Secondly, the pre-started first stitch feature is genius. It bypasses the trickiest part of starting a project, letting you jump straight into the fun of hooking stitches. Lastly, their tutorial format, as I mentioned, is unique. While sometimes requiring a bit of phone juggling, it breaks down complex steps into bite-sized, visual lessons, truly for beginners. The fact that all necessary materials are included, right down to the safety eyes and yellow beak for your penguin, means no last-minute scrambling. If you're still exploring options for a DIY crochet kit for beginners, here’s what I'd suggest looking for: clear, step-by-step instructions (video tutorials are a massive plus!), good quality yarn that’s not too thin or fuzzy, and all the essential tools (crochet hook, stitch markers, tapestry needle, stuffing). An "honest review" from other beginners can also be incredibly helpful in guiding your choice. Don't be afraid to read reviews and compare kits before committing. Once you’ve mastered your first Wooble, what's next on your crochet journey? The beauty of these kits is that they teach you foundational skills, including how to read patterns. This means you’re not limited to kits! You can explore countless free patterns online (YouTube, blogs, Ravelry), invest in a beginner crochet book, or even try more advanced Woobles kits. The detailed stitches you learned with your first project will serve you well as you tackle new challenges. The world of crochet is vast and wonderful, and a good beginner kit like Woobles truly sets you up for continued success and enjoyment.
