Sometimes we forget our parents were kids once too. 🤍
Watching my dad play in the sand at Mercer Labs reminded me that joy doesn’t have an age limit.
Maybe growing up isn’t about losing your inner child. it’s about finding moments that bring it back. ✨
📍Mercer Labs
Visiting Mercer Labs with my dad was a truly heartwarming experience. It's amazing to see how places like Mercer Labs, located at 21 Dey Street in NYC, can become the backdrop for cherished family memories. Watching my dad play in the sand and enjoy simple pleasures like tasting different foods — from insisting on arepas to happily switching to gyozas — reminded me that joy is absolutely ageless. The gentle and sweet moments, such as him sharing thoughts about making pasta or suggesting smaller portions ('mas pequenito'), show a side of parents we often forget: they were once kids too, filled with curiosity and playfulness. These memories made me realize that growing up isn’t about losing the inner child but about finding those precious moments that bring it back alive. Personally, I believe that reconnecting with one’s inner child can greatly improve family bonds and mental well-being. Whether it’s through simple acts like playing in the sand, sharing meals, or enjoying favorite foods together, these experiences create lasting joy and strengthen relationships. Mercer Labs provided the perfect setting for this reunion of past and present — a reminder that happiness often comes from embracing the innocent, playful spirit inside us all.
