Crochet coquette croquette?? WHAT IS THIS?
Hello pixies, we’re in another post of this series; 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔… and our words for today are 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘵, 𝒸𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒 and ｃｒｏｑｕｅｔｔｅ.
I’ve seen many are still confused with these three words but I do get what they intended to say or write… so to use the correct spelling or words as you intended, here’s what I’ve concluded. Oh, as for 𝒸𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒, it has other meaning too but what I wanna highlight here is regarding the fashion trend since that was how the word came to be known more recently, right?
Also not to mistake these two;ｃｒｏｑｕｅｔｔｅ and 𝒸𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒 since one is food while the other isn’t haha

Dulu bila scroll media sosial, aku pun selalu nampak orang tulis “coquette crochet”, “crochet coquette”, sampai aku sendiri pun blur apa sebenarnya maksud coquette. Lagi keliru bila ada yang sebut croquette sekali – rupa‑rupanya satu pasal fesyen, satu lagi pasal makanan! Jadi, untuk korang yang tengah cari “coquette maksud”, jom kita pecahkan satu‑satu dalam bahasa yang lebih mudah hadam. 1. Maksud ‘coquette’ dalam fesyen ‘Coquette’ asalnya dari bahasa Perancis, merujuk kepada perempuan yang manja, flirty dan suka bermain‑main dengan pesona diri. Dalam dunia fesyen sekarang, bila orang cakap “coquette aesthetic”, dia merujuk kepada gaya yang: - Sangat feminin dan lembut - Banyak warna pastel (pink lembut, putih, krim) - Motif romantik macam ribbon, lace, ruffle, bunga kecil - Aksesori cute macam hair bow, pearl, choker halus Bayangkan vibe princess, girly, manis dan dreamy – itulah coquette aesthetic. 2. Crochet pula apa? ‘Crochet’ ialah kraf kait guna jarum kait (hook) dan benang. Contoh: - Sarung botol kait macam dalam gambar yang ada corak kotak dan strawberi - Beg kait, topi bucket kait, cardigan kait - Coaster, doily, keychain comel Jadi bila orang tulis “crochet ≠ coquette”, maksudnya: crochet = teknik / kraf, coquette = gaya / aesthetic. 3. Apa maksud ‘coquette crochet’? Ini selalu timbul bila dua dunia bercantum: kraf kait + fesyen coquette. ‘Coquette crochet’ biasanya bermaksud: - Barang kait (crochet) yang direka dalam coquette aesthetic Contohnya: - Sarung botol crochet warna putih krim dengan ribbon pink dan motif strawberi - Topi kait dengan ruffle dan bunga kecil - Cardigan crochet warna pastel dengan lace dan butang pearl So, kalau korang nak jual atau share hasil kait, dan gaya dia sangat girly dan lembut, bolehlah panggil sebagai “coquette crochet piece”. 4. Jangan tertukar dengan ‘croquette’ ‘Croquette’ pula ialah makanan – kroket! Biasanya: - Bentuk gulung / bujur - Disalut serbuk roti - Digoreng sampai keemasan - Inti boleh macam kentang lecek, daging, ayam, keju dan sebagainya Dalam gambar OCR disebut sebagai “gulungan goreng Perancis” yang disalut serbuk roti. Jadi coquette (fesyen) dan croquette (makanan) memang bunyi hampir sama, tapi makna totally lain. 5. Tip senang ingat - coQuette = fesyen, girly, cute (ingat huruf Q sebagai “Queen”) - croChet = guna Crochet hook (ingat huruf C dan H – Crochet Hook) - croQuette = makanan, kroket (ingat bunyi “ket” macam kroket) Sejak aku faham beza tiga perkataan ni, memang lebih yakin bila tulis caption atau cari idea outfit. Kalau korang pun pernah tersasul tulis coquette padahal maksud nak tulis croquette (makanan) atau crochet (kait), don’t worry, ramai sama! Harap penerangan ni boleh bantu korang guna perkataan yang lebih tepat lepas ni.
