Pls help :(

I know there’s someone out there that will understand what I’m going through or have a solution for it 🫠

My hair is naturally an ashy brown color with green undertones (best way I can describe it). It’s more obvious in the light and when my hair is fully dry. But I can blend my hair with other more reddish-toned hair when I use product 😊

The problem is that most fake hair that you purchase has a red undertone and using a purple shampoo won’t help because I have green undertones, not purple or bluish. 💚

When I was coloring some bundles that were very red-toned, I used green dye mixed with conditioner and it seemed to help, but it wasn’t quite what I needed to match my hair color 🙃

Since this is a problem that I run into frequently, I would really love to know how to fix it.

Should I just use a stronger green dye so it’s not mild and temporary like the conditioner mixture I’ve used?

Is there an exact ash brown hair dye that would match my color? What is it and does the hair have to be lightened significantly before using that dye?

Please help! And go into detail lol. I want all of it! 😄

I don’t want to resort to coloring my hair to match bundles every time. I love my natural hair color.

... Read moreIf you have ash brown hair with green undertones, you’re certainly not alone. Many individuals face the challenge of matching extensions or wigs with their natural hair color. The key is to understand how hair color theory works. For those with green undertones, using red-toned products can be counterproductive, leading to unwanted warmth in the color. Instead, consider using dyes that are specifically designed for ash tones that have neutral or green bases to balance out your undertones. There are several brands that cater to this specific need, and many of them offer a variety of shades from light to dark ash browns. Additionally, consulting with a professional hair stylist can provide insight into the best products to use, as well as the techniques for applying them effectively. Products like green shampoo or conditioner can also help tone your hair subtly without overwhelming it with color. A common method for achieving a perfect color match is to perform a strand test before full application. This involves applying a small amount of dye to a section of hair to see how it reacts with your natural color. Furthermore, keep in mind that maintaining the vibrancy of ash colors often requires specific upkeep, such as using sulfate-free shampoos and avoiding too much heat styling. Ultimately, loving your natural hair while ensuring your extensions match perfectly is achievable with the right knowledge and products!
