Matcha Run #6
On a craze to try even more matcha out there but poor wallet of mine 😅
Where to this time round?
📍Tsujiri at Tanjong Pagar
💰 Price: $7.00 for medium sized, iced.
🍵: Matcha Latte
This is such a well known brand that everyone knows that they sell matcha everything! 🍵
The green was great, but the taste was a lil disappointing. I could taste the grassy taste and a slight astringency too.
BUT I think the milk might have been the bigger problem. It felt….. thin? Did they use full cream milk or was it a low fat milk? It hits different and I guess it’s a 6/10 for me at this place :(
More to try but I need to save up moolah first!
If you’re a matcha enthusiast exploring Tsujiri at Tanjong Pagar, it's good to consider factors beyond just the flavor. From my experience, the milk quality greatly influenced the drink’s smoothness. I wondered if they used lower-fat milk which made the latte less creamy than I expected. Also, the grassy taste and slight astringency might appeal to purists but could be off-putting if you prefer milder matcha drinks. For those budgeting their cafe visits, Tsujiri’s $7 medium iced matcha latte can be a treat but may not always hit the mark. I suggest visiting during off-peak hours to avoid long queues and trying other matcha options on their menu, such as their matcha roll or ice cream latte, to see what suits your palate best. Don’t hesitate to ask about milk options or sweetness levels—they might customize your drink for a better experience. Overall, Tsujiri is a popular spot worth exploring if you love authentic Japanese tea culture, but managing expectations about texture and taste is key. I’m still on the lookout for my perfect matcha fix in Tanjong Pagar and will update my review as I try more! Including "Matcha" prominently, the place offers a definite atmosphere for tea lovers, combining traditional matcha flavors with a modern cafe vibe. If you enjoy photographing your food and drink, Tsujiri also serves well for Instagram-worthy snaps, enhancing the whole experience beyond just taste.
