Spiritual growth… requires separation.
And nobody really talks about how lonely that part feels.
Because one day…
the conversations don’t hit the same,
the environments feel off,
and the version of you that used to fit…
no longer belongs.
It’s not that you think you’re better
you’re just becoming different.
And different requires distance.
Some people can’t go where God is taking you.
Not because they’re bad…
but because they’re not aligned with your assignment.
So yeah… you might outgrow spaces,
release people you once loved deeply,
and sit in silence longer than you ever have before.
But that silence?
That’s where God speaks the loudest.
Separation isn’t punishment…
it’s preparation.
It’s where He strips away distractions,
heals what you’ve been hiding,
and shows you who you really are.
So if you’re in that season right now…
don’t fight it.
Because purpose requires obedience
and sometimes obedience…
looks like letting go.
From personal experience, I've found that spiritual growth truly necessitates a form of separation—not just from people, but from previous ways of thinking and living. It can be incredibly isolating when the conversations once familiar no longer resonate, and the environments that once supported you begin to feel misaligned with your evolving self. This shift isn’t about feeling superior; it’s about evolving into a different version of yourself that requires new spaces and relationships. During my journey, moments of silence were some of the hardest yet most profound. It’s in these quiet periods where I felt the deepest connection to God and my inner self. This silence acts as a fertile ground for healing, stripping away distractions and allowing your true identity to surface. It’s also a time when you realize that some people, while once close, may not share the same spiritual alignment or life path, and that’s okay. Separation can indeed feel like a form of loss, but it is also a form of preparation. It prepares you to receive clarity on your life’s assignment and to proceed with obedience and purpose. This obedience often means letting go—whether it’s old habits, stagnant environments, or relationships that no longer support your growth. Embracing this process made me more receptive to peace within myself, as I learned to trust the timing and direction that life was guiding me toward. This journey is deeply personal, but recognizing that separation isn’t punishment, but a sacred preparation, was a transformative realization. If you find yourself in this season, know that the loneliness is temporary and that true peace and alignment await on the other side.
