My journey building him has been a ride, and I'm still working towards getting him to LV90, but even at Level 80, he's an absolute beast. I've been experimenting with different setups, and I want to share my personal strategies to help you maximize his damage in Genshin Impact. First things first, his 'water cannon' charged attacks are where all his power comes from. You want to prioritize making those hit as hard as possible. For artifacts, the Marechaussee Hunter set is almost tailor-made for him, especially if you pair him with a healer or shielder who can manage his HP fluctuations. I've been grinding for ages to get good pieces because, as I found, I really didn't have any artifacts for him when I first got him! Aim for Hydro DMG Bonus on the Goblet, Crit Rate or Crit Damage on the Circlet (depending on your weapon and substats), and HP% on the Sands. Don't underestimate HP% – it scales his damage! For substats, focus on Crit Rate, Crit Damage, HP%, and Energy Recharge. Next up, talents. This is crucial! I know it's easy to overlook, and initially, my talents were only LV7, but trust me, leveling his Normal Attack (which influences his Charged Attacks) is incredibly important. Prioritize his Normal Attack first, then his Skill, and finally his Burst. His Skill and Burst are great for generating Sourcewater Droplets, which are key to shortening his Charged Attack wind-up, but the damage scaling primarily comes from those fully charged blasts. When it comes to team compositions, Neuvillette absolutely shines with characters who can provide consistent off-field application or buffs without interfering with his personal damage. Since he's often played as the sole Hydro DPS, having a shielder like Zhongli or a healer like Baizhu (who can also provide Dendro reactions) is fantastic for keeping him safe and generating the necessary HP changes for Marechaussee Hunter. Characters like Kazuha, Furina, or even my main Yelan (who was my first 5-star, and I even got double Yelan!) can further amplify his output. Hydro Resonance (two Hydro characters in the team) gives a nice HP boost, which is excellent for Neuvillette. My general gameplay strategy revolves around consistent Charged Attacks. Start by using your Skill and Burst to generate Sourcewater Droplets. Then, position yourself, absorb the droplets, and unleash those powerful Charged Attacks. Remember to dodge or use a shield to avoid interruptions. It takes a bit of practice to get the rhythm down, but once you do, you'll see massive numbers! Building Neuvillette correctly involves a bit of farming and understanding his unique mechanics, but the payoff is incredibly satisfying. Good luck, fellow Travelers!
