It’s truly incredible to think about how deeply God loves us, isn't it? When I imagine Jesus as our 'forever Valentine,' it brings such a comforting perspective to life, especially for our kids. We often get caught up in what the world tells us we are, or what we should be. But God’s truth is so much more profound and unchanging. One of the most beautiful lessons I try to instill in my children, and remind myself of daily, is what God says about who they are. It’s not just about what we *do*, but about who we are in His eyes. For instance, have you ever really meditated on John 3:16? It says, 'For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.' This isn't just a verse; it's a declaration of our immense value. It means we are loved beyond measure, so much so that He sacrificed everything for us. We are worthy of eternal life! And it doesn't stop there. The very next verse, John 3:17, clarifies, 'God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save it.' This is such a powerful reminder that we aren't defined by our mistakes or shortcomings. God isn't looking to punish us; He's looking to redeem us. He says we are saved, not condemned. That's a huge shift in perspective, especially when we feel like we're not enough. When I tell my children that 'Jesus is their forever Valentine,' it’s a simple way to convey these deep truths. It’s about 'making sure my children know Jesus is their forever Valentine,' because His love isn't fleeting like a box of chocolates. It’s constant, unwavering, and unconditional. It teaches them they are cherished, chosen, and deeply cared for. Think about other things God says about you: You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Your unique qualities, your personality, even your quirks – they are all part of a divine design. You are not a mistake. You are a child of God (John 1:12). This means you have an inheritance, a family, and a Father who deeply cares for you. You are part of His household. You are chosen (1 Peter 2:9). You weren't an afterthought. God specifically chose you for a purpose. You are loved with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). No matter what ups and downs life brings, His love for you never ends. Embracing these truths can truly transform how we view ourselves and our place in the world. It’s a daily practice of remembering that our worth isn't in what we achieve or what others think, but in who God says we are. So, this Valentine's season, and every day, let’s hold onto the beautiful truth that Jesus is our ultimate Valentine, and through Him, we are eternally loved, valued, and purposed.
