Celebrated my pup’s 1st birthday 🎈

Who said fur kids don’t need birthday parties? Hahaha!

We recently celebrated Summer’s 1st birthday together with her sister (Mofu) at CSC Loyang chalet.

We invited furry friends over to have fun around the chalet area, especially since there was a big grass patch perfect for them to play chase.

We catered food for the humans and meatballs for the fur kids. Our meatballs were from Zoomys.sg, and we chose two different proteins (duck & beef) to suit the different dietary needs of the pups ✨ ALL of them loved the meatballs so much.

Prior to the actual day, we had a few things to prepare apart from booking the chalet…

We had to come up with the guest list, brainstorm and purchase the goodie bags and gifts, plan the lucky draw game (we went with bingo), arrange catered food for both dogs and humans, buy decorations, find a birthday outfit for the fur kid and… of course, bake our own pupcake for all the furry guests! Hahaha 🤣 We followed a recipe on XHS and it turned out so successful 🤭 All the pups loved and finished their pupcake! It was also more cost-savvy since each store-bought pupcake would have cost us $16.

All in all, the party wasn’t just for the fur kids to play — it was also for the humans to bond and chat about like-minded topics. We received many interesting and thoughtful gifts too, such as toys, treats, bowls, milk, clothing, sunblock for dogs, dog tags, bows and bandanas!

You might also be wondering how the chalet rooms look.

They were not as dated as I expected! In fact, they were quite clean and comfortable. We had four spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms and very cold aircon. I recall each room even had a ceiling fan. Towels, toothbrushes and basic amenities were also provided.

The ONLY complaint I have is that the two aircons and fans in the main living hall were not enough to cool the space. It felt like a sauna even in the evening — no cold air at all, just stuffy.

Here’s what I found essential to bring and prepare: 1. Dog-Friendly Food and Treats: Opt for easy-to-serve meatballs or other favorites tailored to different dietary needs of your dogs. Ordering from specialty places like Zoomys.sg ensures quality. Making your own pupcakes is fun and budget-friendly — I followed a simple recipe found online, and it was a hit! 2. Goodie Bags and Gifts: Think of toys, treats, dog bowls, and accessories like bandanas or tags. These little surprises delight furry guests and thank their humans. 3. Decorations and Dog Outfits: Simple party decor and a cute birthday outfit for your pup add to the celebration vibe and camera-worthy moments. 4. Entertainment and Games: Plan easy interactive games like bingo or lucky draws that engage both dogs and owners. 5. Venue Preparation: When booking a chalet, verify amenities such as room cleanliness, ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning, and open grass areas for playtime. I found four spacious rooms with cold aircon and ceiling fans ideal, though the main living hall could have used better ventilation. 6. Safety Essentials: Bring water bowls, sunblock designed for dogs, and first-aid basics. Throwing a dog birthday party is ultimately about celebrating your pet’s joy and bringing together a community of dog lovers. Personal touches, thoughtful planning, and practical packing make the day fun and stress-free. Hopefully, these tips inspire fellow dog parents to create memorable birthdays for their furry companions!
