We've all been there – a Dead by Daylight match that starts normal but quickly turns sour because of a killer being outright toxic. Just like in that epic game against the slugging Pig, sometimes you have to be prepared to counter those unfair tactics, or at least know how to make the best of a bad situation! What exactly is 'toxic slugging'? It's when a killer intentionally leaves downed survivors on the ground without hooking them, often to bleed them out or to use them as bait. When a 'toxic slugging Pig' does this, it can feel incredibly frustrating and make you want to just give up. But trust me, with the right mindset and a good survivor loadout, you can absolutely turn the tables and get your revenge! When I'm up against a killer known for slugging or being toxic, my 'rivals loadout generator' in my head usually gets working overtime. I always tweak my perks to maximize my chances. My go-to choices often include: Unbreakable: This perk is a game-changer! Being able to pick yourself up from the dying state once per trial is essential when facing a slugging killer. It lets you deny them the satisfaction of bleeding you out and often creates pressure they weren't expecting. Decisive Strike (DS): If they're also tunneling (repeatedly targeting one survivor), DS gives you a crucial stun to escape after being unhooked. It helps punish those who don't respect the hook state. Off the Record / Borrowed Time: These are fantastic for making sure your unhooks are safe. Protecting your teammates from immediate re-downs is key to breaking a toxic killer's momentum. Adrenaline: That burst of speed and health at the end game can be a lifesaver, especially if you've been slugged or are in a desperate chase. For the People: A risky but incredibly rewarding perk. If you can pull off a quick pick-up of a downed teammate, it can swing the game in your favor and completely throw off the killer's plan. Beyond perks, in-game tactics are crucial. If a killer is slugging, focus on completing generators aggressively. Don't waste time trying to make risky saves if it means another person getting downed. If you're the one slugged, crawl towards pallets, windows, or teammates. Don't give up hope! Sometimes, the killer will get distracted, or a teammate will have a chance to pick you up. Specifically against The Pig, dealing with her Reverse Bear Traps and her Ambush ability is key. Always prioritize getting those traps off your head, and be mindful of her stealth attacks, especially around loops. If she's slugging, she might be trying to herd you into a specific area or bait out saves. Ultimately, it's super satisfying when you manage to outplay a toxic player, just like doing that slugging Pig dirty!
