Next up, a trip to the hardware store to pick up the perfect lumber. I envisioned a white wooden mug rack that would blend seamlessly with our kitchen decor. While there, I even considered paint options, like a crisp white shade – something similar to the RICE SM1016 swatch I spotted. Getting the right materials is half the battle, and seeing the raw wood always gets my DIY gears turning. Back at the workbench in my garage, it was time for the real fun to begin. I laid out the unfinished wooden boards and started on the assembly steps. There’s something incredibly rewarding about taking simple pieces of wood and slowly transforming them into something functional and beautiful. Each cut, each screw, brought the vision closer to reality. After the construction was solid, I moved on to painting the wooden boards... white, giving them that clean, fresh look I was aiming for. Finally, the moment of truth: installing the rack and displaying numerous mugs! It’s incredible how much character our kitchen gained just by having this custom piece. All her diverse designs are now neatly organized and easily accessible, turning what used to be clutter into a charming focal point. This wasn't just about storage; it was about creating a creative mug display that makes us smile every morning when we grab our coffee or tea.
