... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So, I used to stare at my phone, wondering, 'Soooo how do we actually record vids?' It felt like everyone else just knew how to make those cool short videos, and I was totally lost. I’ve been on a little journey figuring out the basics, and honestly, it’s not as scary as it seems! If you're wondering how to record stuff, here are some simple tips I picked up that really helped me get started. First things first, you don't need fancy equipment to start recording videos. Your smartphone is an incredibly powerful tool! I mean, most of us already have one, right? Let's talk about how to use video with what you've got. 1. Lighting is Your Best Friend: This was a game-changer for me. Natural light is amazing! Try to record near a window during the day, facing the light. Avoid having a bright window or light source behind you, as it'll make you look like a silhouette. If you're indoors at night, look for a well-lit room or even use a simple ring light if you have one. Good lighting makes everything look so much better! 2. Keep it Steady: Shaky footage is super distracting. I always try to hold my phone with both hands for stability. If I'm sitting at a desk, I'll prop it up against something or even use a small, inexpensive phone tripod. Trust me, it makes a huge difference in how professional your videos look, even if they're just for fun. 3. Mind Your Audio: This is something I often forgot when I first started! You might have a great visual, but if the audio is muffled or full of background noise, people will click away. Try to record in a quiet environment. If you're talking, speak clearly and try to be relatively close to your phone's microphone. Sometimes, just moving to a different room can drastically improve the sound quality. 4. Simple Composition: Don't overthink it, but a few basic rules can help. The 'rule of thirds' is a good one – imagine a tic-tac-toe grid on your screen and try placing important elements (like your face) along the lines or at their intersections. Also, try to keep your background clean and uncluttered so the focus stays on you or your subject. 5. Check Your Settings (Quickly!): Most phones record in high definition by default now, which is great. I usually just stick to the standard settings, but if you want to experiment, you can sometimes adjust the resolution (e.g., 1080p or 4K) and frame rate (e.g., 30fps or 60fps). For general social media videos, 1080p at 30fps is usually perfect and won't eat up all your storage. 6. Don't Fear Editing: This is where a lot of people get stuck, myself included! But basic editing can be done right on your phone. Apps like CapCut, InShot, or even your phone's built-in editor are fantastic for beginners. I mostly use them to trim out awkward pauses, cut out mistakes, maybe add some text, or put a fun filter on. It's surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it, and it polishes your raw footage into something shareable. My Personal Tip: Just start! Seriously, the best way to learn how to record is by doing it. Experiment with different angles, lighting, and sounds. Watch other creators you admire and see what they do. My first few videos were definitely... learning experiences, but I kept practicing, and now I feel so much more confident. Recording videos has become a really fun way for me to share my life and connect with others. You've got this!

I think when you press the + at the bottom, it automatically takes you to your camera album, but at the bottom of the screen you can switch from “album” to “camera” But idk how to add diff audios to it yet from there 😭
