I've always been fascinated by eyes – they're truly the windows to the soul, right? For the longest time, I'd stare in the mirror, trying to figure out what type of eyes I actually had. Was I almond? Round? Hooded? It felt like a mystery! And honestly, knowing your eye shape isn't just for curiosity's sake; it’s a game-changer for everything from applying eyeliner to picking out the perfect pair of glasses or even just appreciating your unique facial features. If your eyes are slightly wider than they are tall, with an upward lift at the outer corners, and your iris touches both the top and bottom eyelids (without showing white above or below), you likely have almond eyes. I used to think mine were almond, but then I realized the subtle difference in the crease! Round Eyes: Do your eyes appear more open, with a noticeable amount of white showing either above or below your iris when you look straight ahead? Then you might have round eyes! They tend to be large and expressive. My friend has beautiful round eyes, and she’s amazing at making them look even bigger with a little winged liner. Monolid Eyes: This shape is characterized by the absence of a visible crease on the eyelid. Instead, the lid appears as a single smooth surface from the lash line to the brow bone. Distance Between Eyes: Mentally measure if the space between your eyes is more or less than the width of one of your eyes.
