Let’s Go For a Walk!
Growing up in Colorado with dogs, I have always had a very active lifestyle the always included the pets. Now, living in the city and having cats… I want to include them and integrate them into the things I enjoy doing on the daily, the same others do with their dogs! So, since my baby Daisy is getting older, I thought she was ready to try going outside. For the last few weeks, I’ve been putting a harness on her, for her to wear and get used to around the house.
Today was her first day outside and she loved it!
It took some time for her to leave the safety of the backpack, but once she warmed up to the idea of it, she really had fun! I think this is something I want to do everyday with her. ❤️

Taking your cat outdoors can be a rewarding experience for both of you, fostering a bond and providing physical activity. Start by using a proper harness and leash designed for cats to ensure safety. Before stepping outside, allow your cat to explore the harness indoors to build comfort. Choose quiet, secure areas for initial outings to minimize stress. Patience plays a crucial role; encourage gradual exploration by using treats or toys as motivation. Some cats may be anxious at first, but with time, they may develop a love for outdoor adventures. Remember to monitor your cat closely and watch for signs of overstimulation. By integrating short walks into your routine, you enrich your cat's environment, helping them lead a happier life. Many cat owners have successfully trained their pets to enjoy leisurely walks, proving that with the right approach, cats can also embrace the joys of the outdoors! Explore online communities and resources to connect with fellow cat owners and share tips on hiking with cats for more insights.
