Newest cave-themed café in JB

Overhyped or hidden gem? 👀✨

overall, the food was okay still worth considering for the vibes and photo spots. 😙 Lots of matcha variations if you’re into it, though I can’t personally comment since I don’t drink matcha 🍵

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Hibi by Wizards, here's some additional insight from my experience. The café's standout feature is definitely its wavy, cave-like exterior, making it a perfect backdrop for photos. Inside, the menu offers a variety of Japanese-inspired items that are comforting and refreshing, such as the suisen Japanese roasted brown rice and cold soba with a zesty citrus twist, which I found particularly enjoyable. For those who appreciate matcha, you'll find many variations to try, but since I don't drink matcha myself, I focused on other dishes. The salmon chāzuke was warm and soothing, ideal for a relaxing meal. Some items like tempura corn ball had a crispy texture but didn’t quite meet my flavor expectations, and a few kushiyaki options were unavailable during my visit. What I liked most was the unique style of the menu and the creative presentation of the dishes. The cave-theme adds a mysterious and cozy vibe, distinct from typical cafés in Johor Bahru. Whether you're cafe-hopping in JB or looking for a novel experience, Hibi by Wizards is a spot that brings a blend of intriguing aesthetics and decent Japanese cuisine. Just keep in mind some dishes may be hit or miss depending on availability and personal taste.
