Solo Traveling in New Orleans, Need Advice!

Hey everyone! I’m heading to New Orleans next week for a work conference, and I’ll be exploring on my own (21F). I’ve never been before, and honestly, I really want to check out Bourbon Street to grab food, maybe wander into a couple of shops, just take in the vibe.

Some coworkers are telling me I shouldn’t walk around there alone, even during the day, which has me second-guessing. The spots I want to see are only about a 2–6 minute walk from where I’m staying, and I’ll mostly be sticking to that area since I’m only in town for 3 days.

Is Bourbon Street solo actually unsafe, or are people exaggerating? I’d love some first-hand advice or tips from anyone who’s been there recently! please share some tips!

Apparently don’t pull out your wallet to the street kid performers, they will rob you. My fiancé witnessed this firsthand lol
