Kim K Said No Tattoos…

Remember when Kim Kardashian famously said she’d never get a tattoo because “you don’t put a bumper sticker on a Bentley”? Well… she just went on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and proudly showed off her lip tattoo.

I can’t tell if this is iconic or ironic. Part of me respects the “never say never” energy, but another part of me is screaming “girl, YOU made that Bentley analogy!” 😂

Do you think this makes her more relatable (because people change) or does it feel like peak Kardashian contradiction? Would you ever get a lip tattoo, or is that a hard pass?

... Read moreOkay, so let's dive deeper into this whole Kim K lip tattoo situation! When I first saw the news, I literally gasped. I mean, after years of her iconic 'no bumper sticker on a Bentley' stance, seeing her proudly display a tiny infinity symbol inside her lip on The Tonight Show was just wild. It really made me think about how much people, even celebrities, can evolve and change their minds over time. It's easy to judge, but honestly, who hasn't had a strong opinion only to completely flip it later? This whole incident has definitely sparked a huge conversation, not just about Kim Kardashian, but about lip tattoos in general. I've been seeing so many people asking, 'What's it like to get an inside lip tattoo?' or 'Do lip tattoos even last?' And I totally get it, because they're pretty unique compared to other tattoos. From what I've learned, inner lip tattoos are often chosen for their discreet nature. You can have a meaningful design that's only visible when you choose to show it, which is pretty cool if you're in a profession where visible tattoos might be frowned upon, or if you just prefer subtle body art. However, it's not all rainbows and butterflies! One of the biggest things to consider is that inner lip tattoos are known for fading quite quickly. Because of the constant moisture and friction inside your mouth, along with the rapid cell turnover, they often don't last as long as tattoos on other parts of the body. Many people report them fading significantly within a few months to a couple of years, sometimes disappearing completely. This can be a pro for some – a temporary commitment – but a con for others who want something permanent. And let's talk about the pain factor! Getting a tattoo anywhere can sting, but the inside of your lip? That sounds like a whole different level. While everyone's pain tolerance is different, most sources say it's generally considered less painful than boneier areas, but still uncomfortable due to the sensitivity of the area and the vibrations. Proper aftercare is also crucial, involving gentle rinsing and avoiding irritating foods, to ensure it heals well and lasts as long as possible. What I find most fascinating about Kim's choice is the symbolism. An infinity symbol, often representing eternity, commitment, or endless possibilities, inside a mouth that once declared a very finite rule about body art. It’s almost poetic! It makes me wonder if it's a personal reminder to herself, or just a fun, spontaneous decision. Regardless, it certainly adds another layer to her ever-evolving public persona. For anyone considering an inside lip tattoo, I'd say do your research! Talk to experienced tattoo artists, understand the healing process, and be prepared for the possibility of it fading. It's a fun, quirky spot for a tattoo, but definitely one that comes with its own unique set of considerations. It just goes to show, sometimes even the most steadfast rules are made to be broken, and that's okay!

I’m not a huge fan of the Kardashian’s, not in a “I don’t like them” way but just in “I don’t know a lot about them” way. But I will say this, the coolest part about being human is our ability to change our minds. We say, do, and act a certain way at one point in our lives, but then we grow and experience things that lead us to evolve and change. Sure she said something about it in the past, but now she feels a different way about it and that’s okay!
