Be Strong and Courageous
11 AUG '26 - Joshua 1:9 - Draw Strength From God's Presence
Life often throws unexpected challenges our way, and it’s natural to feel afraid or discouraged at times. Reflecting on Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go," offers a profound source of comfort and motivation. I’ve found that when I face uncertainty about the future, remembering that I am not alone helps me move forward with confidence. In my own experience, meditating on this verse has been a way to find inner peace. Whenever daunting situations arise—whether it's a new job, a difficult conversation, or simply the unknown of tomorrow—the assurance that God is present gives me strength to keep going. This encouragement isn’t about the absence of fear but about having courage despite it. Many times, I’ve noticed that acknowledging our fears while simultaneously embracing this promise can transform how we approach life’s obstacles. Instead of being paralyzed by what might happen, we can take steps forward, trusting in divine support. It’s a reminder that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear, but the determination to overcome it with faith. This message also emphasizes the importance of perseverance. Courage can ebb and flow, but remembering that we are supported at all times can renew our spirit and help combat discouragement. Each time I revisit this verse, it feels like a personal call to keep going, no matter what uncertainties tomorrow may hold.
