“5 Year Anniversary of Yin and Yan!” 🐰☯️✏️

These little guys mean a lot to me, they’re pretty much my mascots of this company. The “Mickey mouse” of this brand. Crazy to think the 5th year anniversary is coming up and to celebrate I made a new drawing with them in it. Supposed to be a heart shape. Can’t imagine or think my life without them. They been with me since the pandemic, and I’m glad they exist in my world. 👍

... Read moreWow, it truly feels like just yesterday when I first sketched out these two little bunnies, Yin and Yan. Seeing them celebrate their 5-year anniversary makes me incredibly nostalgic and proud. They’re more than just characters; they’ve become my artistic companions and the very heart of my creative journey. When I say they’re the 'Mickey Mouse' of my brand, I mean it – they embody the spirit and vision behind everything I do. I often get asked about their origins, and it all traces back to that original drawing from 7/14/2020. I remember feeling this urge to create something that represented balance and connection, even during uncertain times. That's how this black and white bunny duo, designed to form a yin-yang symbol, came to life. The white bunny with a smile and the black one with a slightly sadder expression perfectly captured the duality I wanted to express – light and shadow, joy and introspection, all intertwined. They started as a simple sketch, a little doodle to lift my spirits, and quickly grew into something much bigger. One of their most memorable appearances, which many of you often ask about, was when they donned their masks. The masked bunnies drawing was born directly out of the pandemic. I wanted to use my art to share an important message in a gentle, accessible way. Seeing Yin & Yan holding a sign that read, 'Remember to wear your mask! & Wash your hands,' was my small contribution to encouraging safety and community care during such a challenging period. It was a way for these characters, who bring so much joy, to also offer practical support and remind us all to look out for each other. That drawing truly resonated with many of you, and it became a symbol of resilience and unity. Over these five years, Yin and Yan have evolved alongside my own artistic growth. From forming a cute heart shape in my latest anniversary piece to their early, more simplistic designs, every line and brushstroke tells a story of creative exploration. They’ve been my muses, my sounding boards, and constant reminders of why I started drawing in the first place. They teach me about balance, about finding harmony in contrasting elements, and about the power of simple, heartfelt art. Looking ahead, I can't wait to see what new adventures await Yin and Yan. They inspire me to keep creating, to keep pushing boundaries, and to continue sharing stories that connect with people. If you’re new here, I hope you’ll follow along and see how these little guys continue to grow. What’s your favorite moment or drawing featuring Yin and Yan? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
