The Watchers and the Nephilim
And it came to pass in the days before the Flood, that the sons of heaven looked upon the daughters of men, and they were fair. And two hundred angels descended upon Mount Hermon, led by Semjaza their chief. They swore together to take wives of humankind, and they defiled themselves with them.
From their union were born giants, mighty in stature, who devoured the toil of men. When food failed, the giants turned to violence, devouring beasts, birds, and even flesh of men. Blood filled the earth, and the cry of the slain ascended unto heaven.
Then the archangels—Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, and Uriel—looked upon the earth and saw its corruption. They brought word before the Most High, saying, “Behold, the earth is filled with blood and unrighteousness because of the deeds of the Watchers.”
The Lord of Spirits said: “Bind the leaders of the Watchers. Cast them into the abyss of darkness until the day of judgment. Purify the earth of their corruption. As for their children, the giants, let them war against one another until they are destroyed.”
And so the angels descended. The Watchers were bound in chains beneath the mountains, and their offspring perished. Evil spirits came forth from their dead bodies, to wander the earth until the great judgment.

Enoch’s Call
Enoch, son of Jared, walked with God and was righteous. The Lord chose him to be a scribe of heaven. And he was shown visions of what is, what was, and what shall be.
The holy ones said unto him: “Go, Enoch, speak to the Watchers who left heaven, who defiled themselves with women. Tell them: ‘You shall find no peace. You shall not see forgiveness. Your petition shall not be granted.’”
And Enoch spoke their sentence, and the Watchers wept bitterly. Some begged him to intercede, but the Lord would not hear them.

Visions of Heaven
Enoch was lifted into the heavens by the winds. He beheld the dwelling of the Most High: crystal walls, streams of fire, and thrones of light. Thousands upon thousands of angels stood before Him. And from the Great Glory went forth streams of flame.
And he saw the place of punishment: a desert of burning fire, a prison prepared for the fallen stars, until the day when heaven and earth are judged.
Then Enoch beheld the Tree of Life, whose fragrance filled the holy place. And he was told: “This tree shall be given to the righteous after the great judgment, and they shall eat and not wither.”

The Parables
Three parables were shown unto Enoch.
In the first he saw the Holy One seated on His throne, and books were opened. The deeds of men were weighed, and the wicked were condemned.
In the second he saw One like a Son of Man, who had righteousness dwelling in Him. The elect One was hidden in the beginning, and revealed at the end. To Him was given authority over kings and mighty ones. He shall bring down the strong, comfort the lowly, and be a light to the nations.
In the third parable, Enoch saw the final judgment. The angels of punishment opened fiery rivers. The kings of the earth, who trusted in idols, were cast into darkness. But the righteous were given peace, and their dwelling was with the Son of Man forever.

The Luminaries
Then Uriel, angel of light, showed Enoch the courses of the heavenly bodies. He taught him the order of the sun and the moon, the paths of the stars, and the gates of the winds.
The year was shown as three hundred sixty-four days, divided into seasons. The sun rises and sets through appointed gates, and the moon waxes and wanes in order. All creation follows the command of the Lord of Spirits.

Dreams and Visions
In the visions of the night, Enoch saw a great bull, white and strong. From it came many beasts, and among them rose sheep. And shepherds were appointed over the sheep, yet many were false and led them astray.
The Lord of Spirits judged the shepherds, and cast the false ones into the abyss. Then a great house was built for the sheep, and the Lord of the sheep came among them. A new heaven and a new earth arose, and all creation was renewed.

The Epistle of Enoch
And Enoch bore witness unto his children and unto all generations:
“Walk in righteousness, for the Lord sees all your deeds. The sinners think they are hidden, but all their works are written in the books of heaven. The Lord will come with ten thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to destroy the wicked. But the righteous shall inherit light and joy forever.”
And after he had spoken, Enoch was taken, and he was not found, for God took him.

Blessed are they who walk in the path of righteousness. For their reward is life eternal, and they shall dwell with the Elect One, in the kingdom of the Lord of Spirits.
