わたらせ渓谷鐵道沿いに広がる花桃街道は、約2000本のしだれ桃が約2kmにわたって続き、地元の方が30年以上かけて丁寧に育ててきた美しい景観が魅力です。花桃まつりは4月11日から19日まで開催されますが、毎年大変混み合うため、ゆっくり鑑賞したい方は開花の早い時期の4月上旬から中旬がおすすめです。私は初めて訪れた時、まつり開催中に足を運び混雑に驚きましたが、翌年は開花が始まった頃に訪れて静かな花桃の景色を堪能できました。わたらせ渓谷鐵道に乗ってのアクセスは、車の渋滞を避けられるので便利です。また、最寄りの神戸駅周辺も自然豊かで散策にぴったりの場所です。さらに、花桃まつり周辺には草木湖、けさかけ橋など観光スポットも多く、のんびりと春の自然を楽しめます。現在は富弘美術館が改修中のため、近隣の童謡ふるさと館で臨時展示を行っています。この地域ならではの文化にも触れられるので、観光プランとしてぜひ検討してみてください。夜間のライトアップは花桃の幻想的な雰囲気を楽しめるので、夕方以降の訪問もおすすめです。訪れる際は地元の観光協会の公式ホームページで最新の開花状況やイベント情報を確認しましょう。季節のはじめに春色に染まるみどり市で、花桃の彩り豊かな桃源郷を体験してみませんか？
