Back to School try-on Clothing Haul 🛍️

Here are some cute outfits I got from Fashion Nova for back to school! Since my freshman year, I started actually caring more about how I present myself when I’m out the house, and I did that by updating my wardrobe.

Before I would find it challenging to consistently put good outfits together. This is because I didn’t know what my style was and I would lose inspiration easily, leading to me throwing on random stuff I have in my closet and calling it a day, dressing super basic all the time (which there’s absolutely nothing wrong with, it’s good to have a bunch of basic staples that you can mix and match / pair with other pieces, I personally just don’t like to be basic ALL the time :).

Now that I have “perfected” my style, I’ve grown to really enjoy fashion and dressing up for all kinds of occasions, even if it’s just to go to class or running errands. I found that it’s also a great confidence booster, and it gives me something to look forward to. It is also helpful that I can easily mix and match so many different outfits together with the clothing I have in my closet, making it effortless to put cute outfits together. That being said, I’m not always wearing skirts, dresses, and or jumpsuits. Some days I also want to wear sweats. I LOVE a good 2-piece set 🙌🏾 😩 Perhaps I may show how I style some of those in another outfit video…

Now if you were to ask me how I would define my style, I wouldn’t really know what to call it, maybe streetwear inspired with some clean girl/classy as well (honestly I gave up on keeping up with the aesthetics as there’s literally a new one trending every week 😭 so now I just stick to whatever suits me regardless if it’s trending or not). How would you style some of these pieces? 🤔

... Read moreOkay, so we all know how exciting (and sometimes stressful!) back-to-school shopping can be. Finding cute outfits that don't break the bank, especially when you're trying to elevate your style, is a real quest. While I often find amazing pieces from stores like FASHIONNOVA, I've also learned a few tricks to expand my wardrobe without spending a fortune, and that often means exploring other online treasures. One platform that's become a go-to for many, especially when you're looking for incredibly budget-friendly options, is sites like AliExpress. Now, I know what some of you might be thinking – 'AliExpress?' But hear me out! With a little savvy shopping, you can unearth some real gems there. It’s all about knowing how to navigate the platform to get the best value and avoid disappointment. Here are my top tips for scoring amazing deals on platforms similar to AliExpress for your back-to-school wardrobe: Read Reviews religiously: This is probably the most crucial step. Always look for items with lots of reviews, especially those with real customer photos. These photos give you a much better idea of the true color, fabric quality, and how the item actually fits on a person, not just a model. Check Seller Ratings: Stick to sellers with high ratings and a good track record. This reduces the risk of issues with shipping or product quality. Size Up, Always: Sizing on these international platforms can be wildly different. Don't go by your usual size. Grab a measuring tape and compare your measurements to the seller's size chart for *each individual item*. It's a bit of extra effort, but it saves you from getting something that's way too small or too big. Manage Expectations for Fabric: While you can find surprisingly good quality, remember that you're paying budget prices. Don't expect silk for the price of polyester. Look for descriptions of materials and be realistic. Sometimes, a cute knit or a sturdy cotton blend is exactly what you need for everyday wear. Focus on Basics and Trends: These sites are fantastic for trendy pieces you might only wear for a season, or for stocking up on versatile basics like plain tees, leggings, or simple cardigans. They're also great for accessories like jewelry, scarves, or stylish bags that can elevate any outfit. Look for Two-Piece Sets: Just like I mentioned in my original post, I LOVE a good two-piece set, and these platforms often have an incredible selection at unbeatable prices. They're perfect for effortless coordinated looks that you can also break apart and mix with other items. By being a smart shopper, you can build a versatile and stylish back-to-school wardrobe that reflects your personal style without emptying your wallet. It's all about making informed choices and having fun with fashion!
