What should I do with this space in my Room?

One half of my room looks very put together, while this half is all over the place. I recently got this rug from Sam’s Club for like $55, and I feel that it matches my overall theme better than the current one (pretend the bigger rug is not there, this is just temporary since I can’t move it myself). But I still feel like there’s stuff I should add/change, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. What would you suggest?

... Read moreOh, I totally get it! I've been there with a room that felt half-finished and just couldn't figure out how to pull it all together. It’s challenging when one side feels put-together and the other is a bit of a mystery, right? That new rug sounds like a great start to anchor your space and set a vibe! It’s all about finding harmony. When I'm trying to figure out 'what to do with this space' in my own room, I usually start by thinking about function first. What would make this area truly useful and bring a sense of 'happiness' to my daily routine? Sometimes, an unused corner can become the coolest little reading nook if you add a comfy chair, a small side table, and a soft floor lamp. Or, if you need more storage, some stylish floating shelves or a slim, tall bookshelf can work wonders without taking up too much floor space. These are great 'room decoration idea' starters if you're looking for 'cool room ideas' that are both practical and pretty! Don't forget that even a small desk can create a dedicated work or hobby zone. For 'aesthetic organized room' vibes, don't underestimate the power of clever storage solutions. Decorative baskets can hide clutter beautifully, and clear acrylic organizers are fantastic for smaller items that you want to keep visible but tidy. Think about vertical space too; wall-mounted planters for some greenery, a beautiful gallery wall with your favorite photos, or even a pegboard for functional decor can instantly elevate the look and provide 'things to decorate your room with' that are unique to you. Choosing a consistent color palette or a few accent colors can also really tie everything together, making the 'Bedroom' feel cohesive. Another crucial tip for 'how to style my room' is to play with lighting. Beyond your main ceiling light, add some ambient lighting like fairy lights draped strategically, a chic table lamp on a nightstand, or even a standing lamp in a corner to create warmth and depth. It can really change the entire mood of the room, making it feel cozy and inviting. And if you’re into 'DIY room decor aesthetic', consider a simple DIY project like painting an old piece of furniture to give it new life, or creating your own abstract art to hang. Handmade touches add so much personality and can be truly budget-friendly 'cool stuff for room'. Finally, when you're brainstorming 'creative room ideas', sometimes it's about simplifying first. If the space feels cluttered, maybe it’s time for a decluttering session before adding more. Removing items that don't serve a purpose or bring you joy can create a fresh canvas. Once you have a clearer vision, even just a few well-chosen pieces like a unique mirror, a statement plant, or some personalized photo frames can make a huge difference. Remember, your room should be a reflection of you, so choose pieces that resonate with your personal style. I hope these tips help you transform that space into something you absolutely love!

Take out the other rug it makes the whole room look cheap and try to add some more mirrors, plants, bright colors, and fill in some wall space with minimalistic posters.
