NYC Mini-Trip
My best friend and I LOVE New York. We try to go as often as we can when our schedules align, and that usually ends up being about once a year. This time we DROVE, which I thought she was nuts for suggesting, but didn’t end up being bad at all and we saved money. We also took the subway a lot, which intimidated me at first but was a mega cheap way to get around the city.
Day 1: we left at around 4 am, got into the city around noon. Took a short nap and got up and ready for the day. We went to the Morgan Library, which was incredible. I might do another post on all the museums we saw. We caught the ferry to Gantry Park to see the skyline. Then, we went to our favorite Irish pub for dinner and called it a night.
Day 2: got bagels, went over to Brooklyn to see the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges at the swings. We wandered around for awhile and went in the cutest shops. We went to the Cornwall Coffee shop which used to be a bank! The interior was so pretty. I hate that you can only show 10 photos lol. Headed to Chelsea market and tried a bunch of different foods. Went back and got ready for the MET. On the weekends, they have pay as you wish date nights for locals. We emailed to make sure it was okay and came. They have live music and dimmed lighting. This is our third time there and every time it moves me to tears. This time though, the lighting changed the emotions of everything! The sculptures specifically looked incredible. After that we went to GNO all you can drink at Fernando’s which was 1- delish, and 2- a bang for your buck in NYC bc the drinks were NOT weak. Stopped in Times Square for the midnight art showing which was underwhelming and it was also a torrential downpour.
Day 3- we left after breakfast because I forgot I had Pitt tickets to see Kelsea Ballerini lol. Kaylees car went dead and finding jumper cables in the city was a feat 🙃. I already can’t wait to go back. 🫶🏻🌆
