My never ending tbr

Okay, fellow bookworms, can we talk about the ever-growing monster that is our TBR (To Be Read) pile? I swear, it's a badge of honor and a source of overwhelming stress all at once! Just like you, I've got a formidable collection – currently, I'm staring down 32 unread books on my shelves, and that's just the physical ones! It feels like every time I turn around, there's a new must-read title added, whether it's a friend's recommendation, a #BookTok sensation, or just a beautiful cover I couldn't resist. The fear of missing out on a trending read, combined with the sheer joy of adding a new book to the collection, often means our piles grow much faster than we can read them. This constant accumulation has led me to a drastic, yet necessary, decision: I'm going on a book ban! Yes, you heard that right. My personal rule is to not buy any new books until I've read at least half of my current stash. It's a tough challenge, especially with all the exciting new releases constantly tempting me. But honestly, I think it's the only way to truly appreciate the amazing stories I already own and clear some space, both literally and mentally. Have any of you tried a book ban before? But other times, I'll commit to reading the oldest unread book on my shelf, or one that's been highly recommended by multiple friends, just to get it off the list. Another thing that helps is joining reading challenges – even if it's just a personal one to read X number of books a month or tackle a specific genre. It gives me a sense of accomplishment as I tick them off. Don't be afraid to DNF (Did Not Finish) a book either! If it's not grabbing you, it's okay to put it down and move on to something that will. Life's too short for books you're not enjoying. And speaking of books, my current stack includes some real page-turners I'm excited to finally get to. For instance, I've heard amazing things about thrillers like 'The Housemaid's Secret' and 'The Ex' by Freida McFadden. Her books always seem to keep you on the edge of your seat with their twists and turns! Then there are the popular YA novels like 'The Inheritance Games' and 'The Hawthorne Legacy', which I know so many of you absolutely adore and have raved about. It feels almost criminal that they're still sitting there unread, just waiting for their moment. It's a constant battle between wanting to discover new stories and the guilt over the unread ones.
