The end of the crease in the middle of the screen? When liquid 3D printing technology can become a turning point for Thai people to be brave.
The end of the fold in the middle of the screen? When liquid 3D printing technology can become a turning point, Thai people can actually open up to the folding screen.
Anyone who has ever used or touched a folding phone knows that the enemy that never disappears is the crease in the middle of the screen, which, in addition to interrupting the content, feels like a small hole all the time.
It is this feeling that many mobile users in Thailand are reluctant to move from a normal mobile to a folding type because they worry about beauty and long-term durability, where the marks tend to become clearer with lifespan.
Most recently, in the Oppo Find N6 model, the brand has tried to solve this problem in a very interesting way: to apply 3D Liquid Printing or 3D printing directly to hinge components. We usually only see this high-resolution technology in specialized industries.
Behind this smooth screen, start by using a titanium hinge scanning laser to find non-uniform spots on a micro scale, and then the machine drops a liquid polymer layer to fill those rough gaps, and then shines UV light to harden, requiring up to 20 repetitions per machine to make the hinge surface as smooth as possible before placing the screen panel over it.
The result is that the surface's unevenness has dropped from 0.2 millimeters to 0.05 millimeters, which Oppo says allows the crease to fade by 82 percent compared to the previous generation, to almost become zero-sense when touched, also known as Zero-feel Crease.
In addition to 3D printing, a new screen mirror has been deployed 50 percent thicker than before to increase the folding resistance by 300 percent. But interestingly, the overall body is 4 grams lighter than the original model and retains the same folding fragility.
In terms of durability, it is guaranteed by a global institution like TUV Rheinland that it can fold up to 600,000 times, with the screen maintaining smoothness, or if used in normal conditions, it can support more than 1 million folds, which is considered more than enough for a mobile device for many years.
For the situation in the market right now, this model is on sale in some Asia-Pacific countries, waiting to see if this move will break down the crease fear barrier and make the folding screen more available to Thais in their daily lives.
This is not only an upgrade of the cycle specs, it is an attempt to remove the scars of the folding screen technology to create a more perfect user experience than ever before.
