📖 Devariym (Deuteronomy) 12

Sisters…

Yahuah was not just warning Yashar’al about false worship places in Devariym 12.

He was teaching them separation.

He said to tear down the altars, break the images, and destroy the names connected to false worship.

Why?

Because Yahuah understands something many people still ignore today:

Whatever constantly surrounds you… eventually influences you.

And some of you are trying to walk set-apart while still entertaining things that slowly pull your heart away from truth.

Not everything harmful looks evil immediately.

Some things enter through compromise.

Through trends.

Through entertainment.

Through emotional attachment.

Through traditions people never stopped to question.

Devariym 12 is a reminder that obedience is not just about what we say with our mouths…

it’s also about what we allow to remain in our lives.

Sisters…

some altars are physical.

Some are emotional.

Some are mental.

Some are hidden in habits, relationships, pride, vanity, and distractions.

Yahuah was calling His people to remove mixture completely.

And honestly?

Many people want the comfort of truth without the cost of separation.

But the narrow path requires discernment.

It requires courage.

It requires letting go of things that compete for your heart.

Guard what shapes your spirit.

Guard what feeds your mind.

Guard what influences your obedience.

Because whatever sits on the throne of your heart… will eventually direct your life.

... Read moreReflecting on Deuteronomy 12's powerful message about separation from false worship, I’ve realized how important it is to guard not only our actions but also the influences in our daily lives. The call to remove altars isn't just about physical objects—it's about identifying and tearing down the emotional and mental altars that quietly shape our thoughts and behaviors. In my personal experience, these altars often appear disguised as harmless habits, social trends, or even cherished traditions that haven't been questioned in years. They can creep in through entertainment or relationships that subtly pull your heart away from your spiritual path without immediate alarm. What struck me most is the notion that "whatever sits on the throne of your heart will eventually direct your life." This made me more mindful about what I allow to influence my spirit and obedience. It’s a daily exercise of discernment and courage to let go of comfort zones or attachments that compete for my focus and loyalty. The idea of mixture is especially relevant today; many people want to hold onto the comfort of truth but resist the necessary separation it demands. Walking the narrow path means making conscious decisions about what remains in our lives and what must be let go. This teaching encourages us to constantly evaluate our surroundings and inner inclinations and to ask ourselves honest questions: Are these influences helping me stay set-apart? Do they align with the truth I seek? What mental, emotional, or physical altars in my life need to be torn down? By guarding our mind, spirit, and obedience, we create space for genuine growth and deeper connection with Yahuah. It’s a journey of ongoing renewal—one that calls for intentionality and faith to remove mixture completely and embrace spiritual clarity.
