The word rapture isn’t in Scripture—but the idea comes from verses about believers being suddenly “caught up” to meet Jesus when He returns.
📖 1 Thessalonians 4:17 says:
“Then we who are alive… will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.”
That phrase “caught up” is harpazō in Greek → later translated into rapturo (Latin) → where we get rapture.
