WHAT I USE TO GROW MY NAILS
As a 10 year old girl, I remember everyone always making fun of my bad habit, biting my nails. I get nervous, really thinking about something, or just bored, and then I realize all my nails are all bit off 😖 it was so hard to fight it, my mom put on acrylics for me at the salon, and I still managed to snap a few of them. We tried all the hacks, the nasty nail polishes and all, nothing helped.
Skip forward to being a teen I managed to keep them decent. Not long enough to pass my fingertip, but not ugly & bleeding.
After I met my future husband, I forgot I even bite them. There are times when I’m super stressed & I’ll go back to it for a day, but if they are ever super short, it’s cause they are weak & breaking off themselves.
DAY 1: Is where I was working with my hands & they all just peeling off, I didn’t use hand lotions, or cuticle oil, so they just all had to get cut off.
I wanted to have long beautiful nails for the summer so i committed to keeping up with my nail care & these are the 2 things that help!!
When I forget to apply the nail hardener, or it peels off by itself, i realize my nails start to damage quickly, the tips start peeling, but when I keep up with keeping a good thick layer or the hardener or even nail polish on, it really protects my nails 😌
Now the exciting part, painting them to make my hands look more feminine & so I can enjoy doing the daily housework & look at how far I’ve come.
Building on my journey to healthier nails, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into some questions I often get asked, especially about nail hardeners and how to truly care for your natural nails. First, let's talk about nail hardeners. I've seen questions like 'is nail hardener bad for your nails' or 'does nail strengthener damage nails.' It's a valid concern! In my experience, the key is using them correctly and listening to your nails. Some people might have sensitivities, but generally, when applied as directed, a good nail hardener can be a game-changer for weak, peeling nails, just like it was for me. I always make sure to take breaks from it sometimes, letting my nails breathe. And when I apply my nail hardener on natural nails, I ensure they are clean and dry, building up a thin layer. It really helps create a protective barrier, preventing those annoying chips and peeling tips. Beyond just products, I've learned that overall natural nail care is crucial. Many of you ask 'how to harden nails naturally' or 'what causes fingernails to grow faster.' While there's no magic bullet to grow nails in 1 day or 3 days, consistent care makes a huge difference. Hydration is key – not just with cuticle oil, but also drinking plenty of water. I make sure to moisturize my hands and nails regularly. For those looking for a DIY nail strengthener, some swear by a blend of essential oils like a few drops of lavender or lemon oil (which some even say helps with natural nail whitening, though I haven't focused on that specifically) mixed with a carrier oil like jojoba or almond. While I personally rely on my hardener, these natural oils are fantastic for nourishment. For anyone trying to grow your nail beds or just keep natural bare nails healthy, gentle handling is paramount. Avoid using your nails as tools! I also found that keeping my nails shaped and filed regularly, even if they're short, helps prevent snagging and breakage, which is vital for encouraging nail length and overall nail development. If you have clean short nails without polish, a gentle buffing block can make them look super healthy and shiny. Remember, patience is truly a virtue when it comes to nail growth. My progress from 'DAY 1' with short, peeling nails to visibly strong, long nails by '1 MONTH' didn't happen overnight. It was a consistent routine of applying my nail hardener and cuticle oil, protecting my hands, and generally being mindful of my nails. It’s all about nurturing them step by step! I hope these extra tips help you on your own nail strengthening journey!

My nails grow that long in two weeks... no nail oil or anything 💀 Just moisturizer and filing my nails to shape.
