Today was a big day… dyslexia testing part 2 💛

This was the part I couldn’t be there for… and that was hard 😭

Parents aren’t allowed inside, so I had no idea what was happening.

But when she came out… she told me EVERYTHING 👀

I shared her full experience on YouTube if you want to hear what really happens during testing 💛

... Read moreHaving gone through dyslexia testing with my child, I truly understand how nerve-wracking it can be for parents not to be allowed inside during the evaluation. It feels like being on the outside of a very important moment. But when my child came back and shared her experience, it was a huge relief to hear everything in detail. The testing process can be quite thorough, focusing on decoding, reading fluency, and comprehension skills to identify specific areas where dyslexia impacts learning. One thing I found helpful was preparing my child emotionally beforehand, so she felt comfortable and confident during the testing. Also, watching my child's responses helped me realize that the professionals conducting the tests are supportive and patient, aiming to create a judgment-free environment. For other parents, I highly recommend discussing what to expect with your child ahead of time and being ready to celebrate small wins. Since the diagnosis journey can feel overwhelming, connecting with other homeschooling parents and joining support groups made a big difference for me. They offer not only emotional support but also practical tips on tailored learning strategies. Dyslexia doesn’t define your child's potential; with the right tools and understanding, they can thrive academically and personally. If you want an in-depth look behind the scenes, I shared the full testing experience on my YouTube channel, which might ease your worries and provide clarity on what happens during these essential assessments. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey, and every step forward is a big win worth celebrating.
