Healthy Relationships 2024 ! 🫶🏻🫶🏽🫶🏿

This is a tiny list of things to look for while pursuing a healthy relationship in 2024!

The things on this list should be done EARLY ON before ever committing to a person. Ideally, you will be able to assess if you and a man are ready for a healthy and committed relationship within the FIRST MONTH of talking/dating by using these as talking points while getting to know each other.

YOU DON’T WANT TO LET TIME DRAG!!!

If a man is moving very slow (delaying dates/group settings, hesitating to share what he’s looking for upfront, etc) HE’S NOT LOOKING FOR ANYTHING SERIOUS!

Let me know if you want a part 2 💚

Like i said, this can go deep and we’ve only scratched the surface!

... Read moreI totally get it – finding a healthy, stable relationship can feel like a maze, especially when you're looking for that calm, loving connection. My own journey has taught me a ton about dating smart and setting the stage for lifelong happiness. The original post just scratched the surface, so I wanted to dive deeper into practical steps and relationship advice I've personally found invaluable. One of the absolute first things I learned is the importance of Self-Assessment. Before thinking about a partner, I had to understand myself. What's my communication style? Am I direct or do I avoid conflict? What are my core beliefs, expectations, and boundaries for a partnership? Defining my personal habits, good and bad, was a game-changer. Therapy and journaling truly helped me here, giving me the clarity to approach dating with intention. Without this crucial step, it's hard to clearly articulate your needs or even recognize if someone is a good fit for a stable relationship. Next, it’s vital to ask yourself: What Do You Want? This might sound obvious, but I've seen so many people, including my past self, enter relationships without a clear vision. Are you looking for marriage, a fun adventure partner, or simply regular dates and companionship? Being specific helps you communicate your intentions upfront and avoids unnecessary heartbreak. If you're hoping for a calm, stable future, make sure your dating choices align with that vision from day one. I found that if I wasn't clear about my own goals, I'd end up in situations that didn't serve me. Communication is, of course, the bedrock of any healthy relationship. But it's not just about talking; it's about how you talk and how you listen. I always try to assess early on if a potential partner can communicate openly and honestly. Do they get defensive easily, or can they calmly discuss disagreements? Are they direct about their feelings and intentions, or do they give vague responses? My experience tells me that someone's temper, transparency, and willingness to clarify intentions are huge indicators. If you want a relationship to be better, prioritizing clear and kind communication is non-negotiable. Here’s a tip I swear by: Invite Others Early On! Introducing a new person to your trusted friends and family can provide invaluable objective insights. My loved ones have a way of spotting things I might miss when I'm caught up in the new relationship glow. They can identify potential red flags or simply offer a perspective that confirms your good feelings. It's like having a built-in support system that helps you navigate the early stages of dating smart. Finally, let’s talk about Commonly Missed red flags. These are the subtle signs that often get overlooked but can really impact a healthy relationship. I've learned to watch out for vague responses that avoid commitment or clear answers. Laziness, especially if it extends to effort in the relationship or personal life, can be a warning sign. A lack of vision for their own future or speaking poorly of other women shows a lack of respect. Blaming others constantly, excessive substance use, or a general disinterest in important details about your life or your loved ones – these are all signals that someone might not be ready for the kind of stable, loving connection you deserve. I now trust my gut when I see these, knowing that addressing them early keeps me on the path to the healthy relationship I want.
