Welcome Home doodles

... Read moreIt's always a treat to revisit beloved characters, and diving back into the world of Welcome Home for these doodles was such a joy! There's something so comforting and inspiring about sketching Wally Darling and Sally Starlet again. I really enjoyed creating this little sketch page, capturing three distinct moments. You can see Wally relaxing in a chair, phone and apple in hand – I love imagining what he's up to! Then there's his classic smiling headshot, which is always a favorite. And Sally Starlet with her iconic sun-shaped head and that wonderfully surprised expression just brings a smile to my face. If you're like me and love drawing these characters, or want to try your hand at some Welcome Home fanart, here are a few thoughts! Wally Darling, with his vibrant colors and perpetually grinning demeanor, offers so much room for creative interpretation. Whether you're exploring different 'Wally AU fanart' ideas or even looking at 'beta Wally Darling' concepts, his design is incredibly adaptable. Don't be afraid to experiment with his poses, expressions, or even imagine him in different outfits. Many artists even create 'wally darling coloring pages,' which is a fantastic way to engage with his design without starting from scratch. Sally Starlet, on the other hand, is pure sunshine! Her star motif and dramatic expressions make her incredibly fun to sketch. Trying to capture her 'surprised expression' from my doodle can be a great exercise in conveying emotion with simple lines. When you're aiming for a 'simple easy cute art style' for your doodles, focusing on their most recognizable features really helps. For Sally, it's definitely that sun-shaped head and her bright, theatrical personality. When I'm doing 'traditional drawing,' I often find inspiration by just letting my pen flow freely, much like these 'funny doodles' you see. Don't worry about perfection; sometimes the most charming sketches are the ones that are a little quirky. Browsing 'traditional drawing Pinterest' boards can also spark ideas for different textures or shading techniques if you want to elevate your 'sketch' game. The Welcome Home project, with its fascinating lore centered around a retro puppet show, offers endless possibilities for 'welcome home characters' fanart. From the residents of 'Threadville' to the main cast, each character has a unique visual language. What are your favorite Welcome Home characters to draw? Or do you have any tips for making doodles look extra expressive? I'd love to hear them! Happy sketching, everyone!
